The trip to Girdwood (better known as Alyeska to the locals) has many wonders. On this trip there will be frequent stops for photographic opportunities. Areas of stopping will include Beluga Point, Bird Creek, Bird Point, and several pullouts for wildlife, Virgin Creek Falls, and Alyeska Ski Resort. Once at the Alyeska Ski Resort, it is highly recommended to purchase tram ticket to the top of the mountain for unbelievable views! The ski resort charges $35 per person for the tram ride. The tram ride is free if you have reservations at the 7 Glaciers restaurant at the top of the mountain. Ask your photographer guide for further details. Plan on 6 hours for this tour.
The weather in Alaska can be interesting at best. We have many microclimates and weather conditions can change rapidly! The weather will not stop our tours, however safety will! Temperatures can range from 50-70°F/10-21C and winds can be from a light breeze, to strong a gust. Rain is not a problem here as we get a lot of it throughout the summer months. The rain typically is a slow drizzle (similar to Seattle).
Most areas are wheelchair accessible with easy short walks on flat ground.
$135 per person: This trip has a 2-person minimum. For a full refund, cancel with at least 24 hours notice. With less than 24 hours refund is not possible and tour can be rescheduled.
